About

Asking for help does not come easily for most people, especially when it relates to emotional and/or personal concerns. The fact that you are taking the time to review my website, shows courage, for which you should already be proud. You have already taken the first step to improve your personal situation, but I hope you will take the next step to contact me so that I can help guide you through the storm that is impacting your life.

My passion is to help others help themselves, by giving them tools to manage life’s obstacles in order to restore balance in their lives. I have approximately 20 years of experience as a pyschotherapist, and as a graduate of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University in New Jersey, I have been taught and trained by many of the top psychologists in the field. The PsyD program at Rutgers University is extremely competitive, as it has consistently been ranked the top program in the country. As a result, I was trained by excellence and have been expected to perform with excellence. I continue to strive towards that goal.

I am bilingual and bicultural, and have provided therapy to children, adolescents and adults in the community and in the medical setting. I have co-authored publications and given presentations at state conferences. I was also an adjunct professor at Pacific Oaks College for eight years, teaching courses in psychopharmacology (medications for mental health disorders) and adult psychopathology (psychiatric disorders) to students attaining their master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). These wide-range experiences have helped me gain greater knowledge and expertise in the field, which has then helped me provide the best treatment to my clients.

My therapeutic approach is to be active and directive, and to provide emotional support and practical feedback to help you effectively address personal life challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship distress, death, divorce, career issues, and adolescent adjustment, among others. I integrate effective methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client, although my focus tends to be within the cognitive behavioral therapy framework. With compassion, empathy and understanding, I work with each individual to help you build on your strengths and to attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing.
